Spring is a magical time of rejuvenation and new beginnings, and it’s wonderful to share the start of something grand with your babies and toddlers. Their eyes light up with wonder at all the world has to offer in the spring. Here are some fun spring activities that the younger crowd will love!
Fun Spring Activities to do with Babies and Toddlers
The Zoo-What better way to celebrate the birth of new things than by going and seeing the baby animals at the zoo? Babies love to be strolled around and toddlers will exhaust themselves running around. Talk about the names of the animals and the sounds they make. Make sure you stop to play on the playground!
Nature Sorting-Children learn through play. Enjoy the weather by visiting the park! Bring a few buckets or baskets and go on a scavenger hunt for treasures. Collect leaves, rocks, flowers, and sticks. Sort them into the correct buckets, then let your toddler roam free and do it themselves. You can do this even with non-mobile babies if you are using a carrier.
An Arboretum-It’s great to just get out of the house and walk around when you have little ones who are more dependent on you. A stroll through a tree playground is just what your bodies need! Plus, you can see various leaves on all the different kinds of trees. Take a deep breath and notice the Oaks, Pines, and Poplars.
Finger Painting-A messy activity is all babies and toddlers want to do and the perfect time to get out the catastrophe-in-making is spring! You can let loose, knowing your babe is getting some major sensory play in without ever messing up your kitchen floor!
Yoga-Activities that promote connection and play are vital to babies’ and toddlers’ development. A dedicated class that facilitates bonding between parent and child while tending to their developmental needs is a great activity (any time of year)! Storytime yoga blends stories, music, yoga, and play and is a great activity to do together especially on those rainy spring days.
There are plenty more spring activities to do with your baby and toddler-simply getting out of the house to enjoy the weather and each other is all that’s needed!
